Every Friday, Harmonix announces the next set of tracks to be released the following week for their music game Rock Band. Yesterday Harmonix announced 3 new songs for their popular game:

Albums Everyone Should Listen to Before They Die

This is a series I plan to keep ongoing. Spanning my musical tastes, I hope to merely suggest, and review, exceptional albums. My hope is that even if you are not a fan of the particular genre or style, you very well could still enjoy these albums. When choosing an album, I intend to find albums that transcend, that can reach all people. The blog as a whole is doing an in depth, song by song, series like this with Radiohead’s In Rainbows (which you can expect the next part soon). The first album in the series is Pink Floyd’s classic, Dark Side of the Moon .  My thoughts and suggestions after the jump.

Rock Band gets first full album, premiers new Motley Crue single

Sound Central resident hardcore gamer here. As a fan of both music and video games, Rock Band is one my favorite games of the last couple years. If you are not a fan, or have not heard of the game you can read about it here. It is a full band simulator with plastic guitars and drums that allow you to play songs with other people, much like Guitar Hero but with a full band.

Recently Rock Band made history by releasing a band’s new single through their game simultaneously with the release of the video and radio play. Next week they will make history again by offering the first ever full album in a music game. More after the jump.
